Winter 1 session information & procedures

Hello JK Families,

Our winter 1 session starts on Monday, 11/20! Please read carefully below as there is a lot of important information. Enrollment in each session does not carry over. In order to secure your spot for another session, families must re-register their child online. We have reached out to all waitlisted families we were able to enroll into the program. Thank you for understanding if you were unable to secure a spot in winter 1.

IMPORTANT DATES & MAKE-UP POLICIES

Winter 1 Session: Our winter 1 session will run the weeks of November 20th-January 27th. This is an 8-week session.

  • We allow 2 make-up classes per child each session if you are unable to attend your regular class.

    • Make-ups must be scheduled in advance by emailing, calling, or speaking to the front desk.

    • Make-ups may not be scheduled during the last week of class (Show Week).

    • Make-ups may only be scheduled during the current session and do not carry over to the next.

    • If your child is sick, we ask that you please utilize our make-up offerings and do not send them to class.

  • JK WILL BE CLOSED ON:

    • 11/23, 11/24, 11/25, 12/8, 12/9, 12/25-1/7.

      • Thursday students receive 1 extra make-up allowance.

      • Friday & Saturday students receive 2 extra make-up allowances.

      • The Christmas & New Year closure (12/25-1/7) is already factored into the tuition. Make-up classes will not be scheduled for this closure.

WINTER 1 PROCEDURES

Arrival & Pickup Procedures:

  • Upon arrival, all families should park in the lot and walk their athlete to the front door. We ask that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before the start of class.

  • A coach will be available in the lobby to help athletes store their belongings and get settled in their class. Attendance will be taken at the start of class to ensure everyone is in the correct class & location.

  • Our younger athletes, (Worker Bees, Yellow Jackets, and Honeycomb 1) will meet in JK2, the gym next to JK1. There are two stone columns outside of JK2's front entrance.

    • If your child needs assistance using the bathroom, we highly recommend you stay in the lobby during class and do not leave the building.

  • When picking up your child, please, once again, park in the lot and walk to the front door to collect your athlete. JK staff members will be on hand to help all athletes connect with their families.

  • Parents/guardians may stay for the duration of class in the lobby where they will be able to watch the live stream of the gym. Please no photography or standing in the doorway of the gym, however. We find this distracts the gymnasts from learning new skills & paying attention to instruction.

Gym Safety Procedures:

  • Gymnasts should bring their own water bottle with their name on it and easily removable shoes. All gymnasts participate barefoot so please no stockings. Leggings are fine.

  • Please refrain from taking photos or videos of your child during class as well as standing in the doorway to the gym. We find that many children get distracted during class when they know they are being filmed. During our last week of the session, (Show Week), we allow families to enter the gym and take as many photos & videos as they would like!

  • No jewelry, watches, or dangly earrings are to be worn in the gym. Hair must be pulled back. Leotards are not required, but many gymnasts prefer to wear them. Athletic attire is also fine to wear during class.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Happy Handstands,

JK Staff
