Summer Session Policies & Procedures

Hello JK Families,

Our summer session is here! Get ready to tumble back into the gym! Please read carefully below as there is a lot of important information:

Enrollment in each session does not carry over. In order to secure your spot for another session, families must re-register their child online. We have reached out to all waitlisted families we were able to enroll into the program. Thank you for understanding if you were unable to secure a spot in summer. (We still have some availability on the parent portal in select classes & camps).

IMPORTANT DATES & MAKE-UP POLICIES

Summer Session: Our summer session will run the weeks of July 10th-August 17th. This is a 6 week session.

  • We allow 2 make-up classes per child each semester if you are unable to attend your regular class.

    • Make-ups must be scheduled in advance by emailing, calling, or speaking to the front desk.

    • Make-ups may not be scheduled during the last week of class (Show Week).

    • Make-ups may only be scheduled during the current session and do not carry over to the next.

    • Refunds/credits will not be given due to a student's failure to attend class or camp.

SUMMER PROCEDURES

Arrival & Pickup Procedures:

  • Upon arrival, all families should park in the lot and walk their athlete to the front door. We ask that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before the start of class/camp.

  • A coach will be available in the lobby to help athletes store their belongings and get settled. Attendance will be taken at the start of class/camp to ensure everyone is in the correct group & location.

  • Our younger athletes, (Worker Bees, Yellow Jackets, and Honeycomb 1) will meet in JK2, the gym next to JK1. This is also where camp for 4-6 year olds will be held.

    • There are two columns outside of JK2's front entrance.

    • Worker Bees is our only class that permits a guardian to enter the gym as active participation is required.

  • When picking up your child, please, once again, park in the lot and walk to the front door to collect your athlete. JK staff members will be on hand to help all athletes connect with their families.

  • Parents/guardians may stay for the duration of the class in the lobby where they will be able to watch the live stream of the gym. Please no photography, however. We find this distracts the gymnasts from learning new skills & paying attention to instruction.

  • All summer camp attendees are required to pack a nut free lunch.

Gym Safety Procedures:

  • Gymnasts should bring their own water bottle with their name on it and easily removable shoes. All gymnasts participate barefoot so please no stockings. Leggings are fine.

  • Please refrain from taking photos or videos of your child during class as well as standing in the doorway to the gym. We find that many children get distracted during class when they know they are being filmed. During our last week of the session, (Show Week) we allow families to enter the gym and take as many photos & videos they would like!

  • No jewelry, watches, or dangly earrings are to be worn in the gym. Hair must be pulled back. Leotards are not required, but many gymnasts prefer to wear them. Athletic attire is also fine to wear during class.

  • All summer camp attendees are required to pack a nut free lunch.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Happy Handstands,

JK Staff
