Hello JK Families,

Our Winter 1 session begins next week! Please read carefully below as there is a lot of important information and closure dates. Enrollment in each session does not carry over. In order to secure your spot for another session, families must re-register their child online.

IMPORTANT DATES & MAKE-UP POLICIES

Winter 1 Session: Our Winter 1 session will run the weeks of November 17th- February 7th.

  • We always allow 2 make-up classes per child each session if you are unable to attend your regular class.

    • Make-ups must be scheduled in advance by emailing, calling, or speaking to the front desk.

    • Make-ups may not be scheduled during the last week of class (Show Week).

    • Make-ups may only be scheduled during the current session and do not carry over to the next.

    • Refunds or credits will not be given due to a student's failure to attend class.

    • You do not need to complete your make-up during the same week as a missed class.

    • We highly recommend scheduling make-up class early in the session, as classes tend to reach capacity towards the end of the session.

WINTER 1 CLOSURES

  • We are closed on multiple dates this session due to holidays and special events at the gym. Please view the chart below for exact dates.

  • The Christmas & New Year Closure (12/22- 1/ 4) is already factored into everyone’s tuition cost & schedule. No make-ups are needed for those closures.

  • For all other closures, students receive extra make-up allowances. You may call, email, or speak to the front desk to schedule make-up classes.

WINTER 1 PROCEDURES

Arrival & Pickup Procedures:

  • Upon arrival, all families should park in the lot and walk their athlete into the lobby.  We ask that you arrive no sooner than 5 minutes before the start of class.

  • A coach will be available in the lobby to help athletes store their belongings and get settled in their class. Attendance will be taken at the start of class to ensure everyone is in the correct class & location.

  • Athletes 4 years and younger, (Worker Bees & Yellow Jackets) will meet in JK2. (The smaller gym next to JK1, our original gym.) There are two stone columns outside of JK2's front entrance.

  • The only Honeycomb (5-6 yr old) classes that will meet at JK2 this session are: Monday 1pm, Tuesday 1pm, Tuesday 4pm, Thursday 1pm.

    • Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding which class or gym your child is scheduled for.

  • If your child needs assistance using the bathroom, we highly recommend you stay in the lobby during class and do not leave the building.

  • Worker Bees is our only class that permits one guardian to enter the gym as active guardian participation is required. Siblings are not permitted in the gym during class.

  • When picking up your child, please, once again, park in the lot and walk into the lobby to collect your athlete.  JK staff members will be on hand to help all athletes connect with their families.

  • Parents/guardians may stay for the duration of the class in the lobby where they will be able to watch the live stream of the gym. Please no photos or videos, however. We find this heavily distracts the gymnasts from learning new skills & paying attention to instruction.

Gym Safety Procedures:

  • Gymnasts should bring their own water bottle with their name on it and easily removable shoes. All gymnasts participate barefoot so please no stockings. Leggings are fine.

  • Please refrain from taking photos or videos of your child during class as well as standing in the doorway to the gym. We find that many children get distracted during class when they know they are being filmed.

  • During our last week of the session, (Show Week) we allow families to enter the gym and take as many photos & videos they would like! There is even an award ceremony at the end!

  • No jewelry, watches, or dangly earrings are to be worn in the gym. Hair must be pulled back. Leotards are not required, but many gymnasts prefer to wear them. Athletic attire is also fine to wear during class. Please no crop tops, however.

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Happy Handstands,

JK Staff
