JK2- WEEK 2- How we ROLL through!

This week in JK2 our athletes are working on fall drills and basic rolls. We start our warmup with stretching and twisting to loosen up our muscles as we begin our dynamic skills for the day. As we move through our stations-- the trampoline, bars, beam, and air track-- we continue to remind our athletes that there is always a beginning and an end to avoid any collisions and work on our spatial awareness. We move to the floor where we work on our rolls (log roll, forward roll, backward roll, egg roll) on wedge mats. We continue our roll work on the bars, where we are also strengthening our cores to make these skills easier. We also review our pony song on the balance beam and add new dismount skills at the end of the beam.
