What's the difference between each Team?
Training Team Yellow
Training Team Yellow is for gymnasts 4 years and older who exhibit the necessary skills, work ethic and desire to be a competitive gymnast. This structured program allows the athletes to work toward team skills and prepares them to join JK's USAIGC Team in the future. Both training teams are greared toward students & families who desire to be on the competitive team and understand the commitment that takes.
Yellow Training Team practices for 1-1/2 hours, once each week. Cost $ 90 monthly.
Training Team Black
Training Team Black is for gymnasts 6 years and older who exhibit the necessary skills, work ethic and desire to be a competitive gymnast. This structured program allows the athletes to work toward team skills and prepares them to join JK's USAIGC Team in the future.
Members of Training Team Black attend workout for 2 hours, once each week. Cost $ 120 monthly.
Intramural Team (In-house)
Our in-house, Intramural Team is for recreational gymnasts who are looking for a taste of competitive gymnastics without the full, year-round commitment of our competition team. Intramural gymnasts compete in a series of mock meets throughout the year, held at JK Gymnastics; they compete against themselves and observe their progress from meet to meet.
Intramural Team does not have structured practices during the Summer months. Intramural gymnasts are strongly encouraged to register for an age-appropriate class during the Summer semester.
Intramural members practice for 2 hours, once each week. Cost $160 monthly
The USAIGC/IAIGC program is for athletes who are ready to show of their skills in a competitive environment. USAIGC team members must be comfortable receiving constructive criticism. They will be judged and ranked based on execution and mastery of their skills. These Team members travel all over the Northeast region during the regular season. Depending on qualification scores, some may even have the opportunity to attend Regional, National, and even International competitions.
Copper 1 Primary entry level for gymnasts with no or very little competitive experience.
Copper 2 Gymnasts with previous competitive experience and/or a higher level of mastery of basic skills. Designed for second year USAIGC Copper Level Gymnasts as a more challenging level with additional skill opportunities requirements and options.
Copper 1 & 2 members practice for 2 hours, twice each week. Cost $160 monthly + meet fees (~$100 each. 5-8 meets per season) + travel cost (gas, hotel, meals).
The next competitive level after Copper. Here athletes will compete advanced skills not allowed in the lower levels; such as back handsprings on floor, back walk-overs on beam, and kips and fly-aways on Uneven Bars.
Bronze athletes practice for 3 hours, three times per week. Cost $320 monthly + meet fees (~$100 each. 5-8 meets per season) + travel cost (gas, hotel, meals).
